Testimonials

From past interns

Angela Trujilo

2023, California State University, Northridge

"My experience at PromoterMotor provided me valuable opportunities for growth. I gained many skills as an intern and later the Human Resources Supervisor, through hands-on work like writing internship and job descriptions, screening applications and resumes, interviewing intern and contractor candidates, onboarding, and more. I was even able to get involved with another area of the business, as an appointment setter. Being part of the prospect outreach process from initial search, communicating with prospects, to appointment scheduling, I was able to sharpen my writing skills and learn more about sales strategies. Throughout this experience, I enjoyed the supportive company culture, networking with peers, and I greatly appreciated Ben Ashpole’s mentorship. I definitely recommend PromoterMotor and its opportunities to anyone seeking to gain skills through hands-on experience."

Gayathri Pothireddy

Karolina Koletic

2023, George Washington University

“My collaboration with Eshwin, my supervisor at PromoterMotor, has been excellent. He had a good sense of when I needed guidance, and he always supported me appropriately, so I always felt comfortable expressing my honest opinions. Moreover, he kept me updated on new technical projects, giving me the chance to contribute my ideas. By sharing these things with me, I became much more familiar with our mission and also understood how to contribute to it better. PromoterMotor significantly supported my learning and growth by giving me the freedom to develop my own ideas and then give me specific feedback on how to improve. By working with different departments I also learned a lot about the functions of the whole company. I found it very beneficial to receive weekly feedback and learn how to take a lot of negative feedback as well. While working on my projects I’ve also seen substantial growth in my attention to detail skills.”

Matthew Mund

2023, University of Tennessee

“Interning at PromoterMotor was a huge opportunity that allowed me to gain vital experience within the business field. Specifically, I was able to collaborate with both my team and other departments to implement strategies and solutions to better promote nonprofits and their social causes. The culture at PromoterMotor is unlike any other, and under Ben’s leadership and guidance, the company is constantly working to improve its ability to support clients and their missions in order to benefit society. Throughout my time here, I felt that the inclusive environment and forward-thinking attitude of the company allowed me to implement solutions and automate different processes, allowing me to build on my college skillset. I am grateful for the opportunity that PromoterMotor provided to create such an enriching and fulfilling experience for me. Thank you so much!”

Seng Tu Aung

“Working for PromoterMotor has been a remarkable opportunity for me. During my time here, I gained much more than I initially anticipated. The training program was diverse and included collaboration with multiple departments, fostering personal and professional growth through project-based learning. This experience challenged me to develop not only web development skills but also to think like a business person, identifying effective strategies to increase conversion rates and attract clients through websites. The friendly culture at PromoterMotor, under Ben's exceptional leadership, has been phenomenal. Ben provided constant feedback throughout my internship, which has helped me improve significantly. I also appreciated the freedom to come up with my own ideas and implement them using the skillset I acquired in college. PromoterMotor taught me crucial lessons in sales and communication with clients while instilling a sense of professionalism and teamwork. I am incredibly grateful to PromoterMotor for providing such an enriching experience that has broadened my skills and knowledge. Thank you so much!”

“Interning for Bashpole has been a fantastic experience. From assisting both the Marketing 1B team and the Business 2B team, I can say every day is a new experience. In such a short amount of time, you have the chance to work on multiple projects and with a diverse team. If you are looking for a place you can make a difference, Bashpole is for you. The projects you do not only impacts your nonprofit clients but also the company as a whole. It is not every place you have the chance to be mentored by the CEO. Here is a place where your thoughts, your opinions, and your feedback matters.”

Yoyo Wang

2021, University of Notre Dame

“The experience of working in the business strategy team is very interesting. As interns, we are given freedom in expressing our ideas and actually working them out step by step. For example, our team has evaluated the ROI and SROI of nonprofits, created metrics, and quantified their social impacts with marketing funnels. We have also tracked conversions on Google Analytics and wrote case studies for summarizing their performances and continued social impacts. The people there are all very nice, and I am lucky to work with so many awesome people in my team.”

Christopher Carbonaro

2019, Notre Dame. Went on to be a Junior Data Analyst at Alliance International CHB

“My experiences at Bashpole were indispensable in teaching me how to solve real problems that real businesses face. I received the opportunity to expand my tech skill set while also receiving input on managing my time, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating my work with others. I would certainly recommend this position to anyone who wants to work remotely while still enjoying a sense of camaraderie with co-workers. If you are interested in marketing or the tech world, this is a great place to grow as a professional.”

Coleson Henry

2024, Ball State University

“I am extremely lucky I was able to intern at PromoterMotor. The company culture encourages a lot of collaboration with other interns, which works very well since everyone is so nice. I don’t think I had a single negative interaction with anyone I worked with. This internship helped me learn how to work more effectively on a team, skills I will most likely use in the future. Whenever I felt confused or unsure about an assignment or decision, my team was always there to help me find the answers and brainstorm.”

Lauren Ruggiero

2023, University of Connecticut

"My Digital Design internship was a successful experience in bringing my ideas to a group of many individuals with a wide range of skills and backgrounds to apply feedback. PromoterMotor allowed me to contribute to materials such as a home page design and a collaborative book being written. The company environment and my relationship with my peers and supervisors were always comfortable."

Dhathry Doppalapudi

2022, UC San Diego

“During my time at Bashpole, I not only learned a lot about design and UI/UX but also about responsibility and how to collaborate in a workplace environment. I regularly met with interns in other departments and learned about their projects, which further helped me in my own work. I appreciated the responsibility, trust, and creative control that I was given during my internship. My suggestions and ideas were valued, and all interactions and discussions were positive and constructive. Aside from the work itself, our all-intern meetings taught me valuable lessons for how to function when we enter the workplace after graduation.”

Mitchell Zhou

2022, New York University

“When I first joined Bashpole, I was unsure and didn’t know what to expect. But at the end of it all, I can confidently say that interning at Bashpole has taught me so much about company culture, working in a team, and what it’s like to work in the real world. Everyday there were things to do or meetings to attend. I was never sitting around or waiting, all the work I did was important to the company. The company is also extremely welcoming and encourages us to network with other interns. If I could sum up my entire internship into one word it would be ‘rewarding.'”

Kendra Wu

2021, University of Puget Sound

“Since even before the beginning of my time at Bashpole, the company page on our website explicitly states this will not be an internship for those who are expecting a coffee-fetching internship. Bashpole has followed through their promise of a meaningful and fully-immersive experience in which interns learn a lot about the company, expectations of their role, and themselves as an employee in the workforce. In following through on their promise, supervisors value honesty and speaking up when there is a need to further delve into a topic, instruction, etc. I have found that the supervisors and interns alike see every employee as a human capable of great contributions. One of the ultimate pleasures I have had working here is working with employees who have a willingness to drop what they are doing and help others who request their assistance.”

Vaishnavi Dontineni

2021, University of Washington

“I came into Bashpole Software looking for an opportunity to apply my skills in a professional environment. I was able to accomplish just this and even more. I was welcomed into a company full of kind and caring interns and supervisors. I felt like a valuable member of the team and was able to expand my design skills while networking with interns from all around the world. I appreciated how there was a form of direct communication with my supervisor. I was able to readily receive helpful suggestions on my work and advice for my future career. I definitely learned a lot as an intern and know that in the future, I will apply the skills I learned through my projects at Bashpole.”

Maggie Hoang

2020, University of Washington. Went on to be a Researcher at DogPaws Project

“My experience this summer was a growing one. I worked on meaningful projects and topics that interest me. I was nervous, being that this was my first full-time summer internship, but Ben and the whole team made great efforts to make me feel welcome and heard. In a virtual space, the company culture is motivating and friendly. The team meetings were a safe place to share and ask questions. I gained the knowledge and skills that I wouldn’t have developed in class. I will definitely take all these lessons for my future opportunities.”

Phoebe Cao

2020, U.C. San Diego

“My 13-week internship at Bashpole has been a great learning experience for me. I want to first express my thanks to Ben and my teammates for making this internship great. The best part of my summer is that I was able to work on several projects with the choice of my interests. I was grateful for the opportunity to explore designing mock-ups, creating landing pages, and advertising with Google Ads. Seeing the pages and the ads I created being online is very rewarding. If you want to work on real-life projects that make lasting impacts, Bashpole is the right place. Plus, the culture here is collaborative – everyone is encouraged to speak up during a meeting and network with other interns from all teams. I enjoyed connecting with other interns and learning more about their cool projects. Finally, I always feel our work is appreciated as Ben gave accomplishments frequently, letting us know that our work is beneficial, both for nonprofits and for Bashpole.”

Lina Seddiq

"During my internship at PromoterMotor, I acquired a variety of skills pertinent to the field of Human Resources through extensive hands-on experience. My responsibilities included crafting detailed internship and job descriptions tailored to attract top talent, screening applications and resumes to identify the best candidates, and conducting thorough interviews with intern candidates. Additionally, I gained proficiency in navigating and utilizing various hiring platforms, enhancing my ability to streamline a recruitment process. This experience has significantly enriched my understanding of HR practices and prepared me for future professional endeavors in the field. The extent to which interns were entrusted with responsibilities is something I found to be unique to this company and appreciated greatly."

From the start, I was warmly welcomed and now with an exciting and bittersweet moment, I can truly say that this company values professionalism, expertise, and most importantly those who have the courage to speak up and take the initiative to go above and beyond. Their willingness and transparency give me confidence in my future. I wholeheartedly recommend others to join the amazing company that is PromoterMotor!”

Xinyue Hao

2022, Rutgers University

Bashpole Software, Inc. was my first internship journey in the United States. I was extremely grateful for this opportunity. The CEO Ben who was my supervisor really supported and helped me a lot. He is humble as a person, professional as a leader, and open-minded as a supervisor, so I felt the strong sense of encouragement while working and meeting with him. My peers also did a great job, and I enjoyed working and collaborating with them, too. One of my peers that I worked with and appreciated the most was always kind, supportive, and influenced me a lot. I liked the environment because the people all strongly showed their professionalism and their work ethic! Specifically, I liked the way that all training sheets are listed clearly and logically, so I didn’t feel confused. The remote aspect also gave me flexibility to achieve work/life balance. Bashpole was a fully remote company for a long while even before this pandemic, so it has a mature system of remote working and for online communication. Also, the RoT training book is also one of my highly recommended items from Bashpole — it teaches interns about workplace strategies and ethics. Finally, my supervisor was especially supportive at the beginning when helping me pursue my internship visa and connecting with my school. He used his behavior to teach me the importance of always being respectful to the commitment. I appreciated this internship experience on many levels. Thank you!”

Lydia Garas

2021, East Carolina University

“My experience with Bashpole was such an enjoyable and useful one. I believe that it is extremely valuable to a student, and I really enjoyed the company’s culture of continuous improvement that embraces change. The environment was so friendly with a youthful entrepreneurial spirit. It helped reinforce my knowledge of responsibility, focus, drive, and ambition. I was responsible for interviewing interns, orienting them through on-boarding meetings, and helping to build HRM systems and procedures. I learned to put every theoretical knowledge I have into practice. This experience honed my skills and provided real hands-on experience which is valuable to my future career success. It was an invaluable tool to help me figure out what I want to do. Thank you Bashpole!”

Labiba Imdad

2021, Purdue University

“The experience at Bashpole Software both as a Market Research and then a Human Resources Intern has been nothing short of astounding. If you’re someone who wants to tackle real-world challenging problems and be able to translate what you learned in your classroom experiences to solve these kinds of problems, working at Bashpole Software is a great opportunity. As a result of how hands-on the work is here, and the crucial need for creative and analytical thinking that is required, I was able to pick up and develop various skills that have given me a leg up in other areas of my professional career. I would highly recommend working here to anyone who is looking for professional growth and the opportunity to solve problems that make a difference, especially as they relate to the non-profit sector and various noble causes. As I depart, I can fondly look back at my time here and link back a lot of my success both in school and the workplace to what I was able to learn from here.”

Gabin Lee

2022, New York University

“I’ve enjoyed the past summer at Bashpole. If you want to learn about analyzing marketing KPIs and get a chance to lead client meetings, I highly recommend applying for this position. Getting the opportunity to write Google ads and analyze ad performance in front of non-profit executives has been a huge learning opportunity for me. I also appreciated my teammates and supervisor, who were there to answer questions and help out whenever I asked for help. I am grateful that I got the chance to work at Bashpole this past summer. I appreciated the learning environment and supportive teammates.”

Sherry Wang

2022, DePaul University

“It’s a company that values everyone’s voice and collaboration. We came up with new, innovative ideas to solve problems. Interns learned how to network and collaborate with people from different backgrounds in a professional way. I learned to be a team player, problem-solving, and project management skills.”

Masaki Aoki

2021, New York University

“To say that my time in Bashpole was amazing would be an understatement. The support system within the company is well-established and very accommodating. If you’re looking for an internship that actually makes you feel like you make a contribution, this is the one for you. In addition to analyzing data and writing ads, marketing interns also spearhead client meetings and handle a diverse portfolio of nonprofit ad accounts. Marketing interns have agency within the company structure; they make real connections with non-profit executives and work to educate their clients on Google Advertising. Bashpole’s staff are flexible in their approach to business and strongly emphasize growth mindsets, making consistent efforts to improve operations within the company. Overall, this is a perfect opportunity for people who want to expand their professional skill set!”

Catherine Plessala

2021, Louisiana State University

“My experience this summer has been so enjoyable. I have seen a lot of growth in myself professionally and personally this summer thanks to Bashpole and this internship. The Marketing team was a great group to work with, making me feel very welcomed as a new intern and very appreciated near the end of my time with them. The management style is one that is empowering. Supervisors encourage learning and open communication over micro management and criticism. Overall, Bashpole is a great place to work.”

Rawan Alhindi

2021, Florida Atlantic University

“My experience this summer at Bashpole was amazing! As a Marketing Season 1A intern, I was able to learn a lot of valuable skills I can apply to in my career. With hands-on training and getting feedback from Ben, I was able to use that to further enhance my skills. Further, I was able to focus on creating ads for nonprofits and work with a team to discuss any questions and help each other on creating ads. I worked on tasks that allowed me to enhance my knowledge and expertise in creating ads. With this internship, I will be able to take the knowledge that I have gained to keep on using for my future career. At Bashpole, it was nothing but a great environment to work with and great mentors like Ben who is there to give valuable feedback to help you succeed.”

Rhea Mudnal

2021, University of Texas at Austin

“My time at Bashpole was full of new experiences and was extremely valuable for my professional development. During my internship, I was able to speak directly to nonprofit organization leaders to show them the success of my advertisement campaigns; this not only boosted my confidence as a marketing intern, but motivated me to work harder to increase the campaign outreach. Though intimidating at first, I also learned how to efficiently network with my marketing teammates and with nonprofit leaders. The inclusive and collaborative culture made me feel free to ask any questions and encouraged teamwork across the different accounts. Additionally, the exposure to Google platforms such as Google Ads, Analytics, and Tag Manager taught me about data analytics while showing me the other side of consumerism. I truly am grateful that I was given this opportunity to grow my critical thinking skills while promoting the positive causes that the nonprofits represent.”

Paul Shriner

2024, Pennsylvania Western University

"Interning at PromoterMotor was invaluable for my career in that it allowed me to learn and grow in numerous ways. I trained on real-world WordPress projects that had a tangible impact, which was incredibly rewarding. The flexible structure of the internship allowed me to participate at my own pace, and the team was always helpful and supportive. I really appreciated the opportunities for growth outside of my core duties, including the Rules of Thumb meetings and networking with other interns. I am grateful that I was able to have this experience. I recommend PromoterMotor's internship to anyone looking for a strong launch to their career."

Yuxuan "Arrie" Liu

2024, UC San Diego

"PromoterMotor is very inclusive. It values diversity and everyone’s opinions. I’m proud of having been a member of the Software team, as it offered me hands-on experience in programming and communicating with different teams, which was critical for my future career. Most communications were online, and meetings were via Google Meetings. They were very efficient and straight to the point. Overall, if you are seeking to prepare for your future, PromoterMotor is a very great choice."

Naimah Arif

2023, Elmhurst University

“I am incredibly grateful that I got to intern at PromoterMotor. The company culture places a large emphasis on collaboration and helping one another out. I was able to learn so much from both my peers as well as my supervisor, Ben, who took great liberty to provide me with a wealth of knowledge and insight that I know I will be able to use in my endeavors within my future career. I was able to take on so many fun, interesting, and captivating projects that allowed me to utilize the things I had learned, from applying for and securing grants for local nonprofits to make positive change for the broader community to being able to brainstorm and conceptualize new and innovative ways we can help nonprofits. During my time here, I made professional accomplishments that motivated me to excel further in my craft and truly made me feel proud in what I was doing. I would recommend an internship with Bashpole Software for nearly anyone, but especially students who are looking to gain invaluable experience while in school.”

Lyrae Johnson

2021, Drexel University

“Being an intern with Bashpole Software turned out to be everything I needed and nothing I expected. I needed a professional environment to develop my skills as a technical writer. I never expected to learn so much about the challenges to US nonprofits and the vast potential of online advertising to support their great works. I also never expected to get a fundamentals course in artificial intelligence! Another benefit to my professional development had to do with the opportunity to mentor and coach younger professionals, which is a type of fulfillment we often overlook as we progress through our careers. That said, I was also glad to be able to spend most of my time focused on the writing process at a less stressful pace than I have been used to. This made more room for thoughtful reflection and better quality in my output. I was glad to be able to stand back from the R&D proposal writing process, analyze it, break it down, and organize it into phases, steps, and a methodology that will hopefully serve Bashpole as a training tool. That tool should in turn help future interns achieve the lasting impacts they seek in their careers. Working on projects for government R&D proposal writing & technical writing proved to be an interesting, challenging and rewarding experience that I am sure will serve me well in my career.”
